Parents/Guardians Code of Conduct

The Board of Directors of Tripp Park Miss-E have instituted a Code of Conduct for all players, managers and coaches that exemplify the characteristics of the Tripp Park Miss-E League: Sportsmanship, Respect and Participation. As parents, we must remember that our officers, managers and coaches are volunteers. They are doing the best that they can to teach the players the game, the rules and to act properly on and off the field. In the opinion of the League Officers, they have been doing a great job and we, as parents/guardians, need to appreciate their efforts. As such, the Officers of Tripp Park Miss-E League have created a Code of Conduct for parents and spectators as well. Everyone participating in Tripp Park Miss-E League at all levels, whether as players, managers, coaches, officials, parents or spectators, are entitled to do so in an environment of courtesy and safety. Accordingly, parents and spectators are asked to observe the following:

I will be involved with my daughter’s team/the league in some voluntary capacity, because it is important to her.

I will remember that my daughter(s) play(s) for their own fun and enjoyment, and winning in only one part of the game.

I will not relive my athletic past through my daughter.

I will take my daughter to every practice and game that I can, and will notify her manager if I cannot. I will do my best to see that she arrives on time for practices and games.

I will review the Tripp Park Miss-E League Player Code of Conduct with my daughter(s) to ensure that she/they, and I, understand and follow them.

I will show appreciation and respect my daughter’s opponents. Without them, there would not be a game.

I will resist shouting out instructions. That is the manager/coach's job.

Despite the fact that it shouldn’t, I understand that there is a possibility that my negative behavior could have an adverse affect on my daughter’s current and future opportunities.

I will leave the umpires out of it. They do not have any interest as to who wins or loses. Any mistakes are honest ones, and your children need to know that you believe this to be true. Being an umpire is a very difficult job. Please remember that they are not professionals.

I will maintain self-control and refrain from disrespectful conduct of any sort, including profanity, obscene gestures, offensive remarks, taunting or other actions that demean any individual. The Board of Directors has adopted a "ZERO TOLERANCE" stance on these points.

I will condemn the use of threat of violence in any form.

Absolutely no use of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs is permitted nor will it be tolerated at any game. Smoking is not permitted on the fields or dugouts.

I will be responsible for the behavior of other family members and friends that attend games.

WARNINGS AND EJECTIONS

Any spectator engaged in profane, rude or threatening speech, gestures or actions or the use of alcoholic beverages or drugs are subject to warning/ejection by the umpires or a member of the Board of Directors. The game may be suspended or terminated until the violator ceases his or her conduct. Should a violator be ejected and fail to leave the complex, the Scranton Police Department will be contacted for the purpose of removal. I understand that all games are played on city property and by refusing to leave I may be subject to arrest. I understand that if I am ejected from the complex, I may not return for any Tripp Park Miss-E League event, pending a review by the Board of Directors.
